A timely measurement
With the tencology created by NAVOO, interesting data can be collected to understand the effectiveness of the Alexa Smart Properties system and the usefulness of a voice assistant for guests.
For example, if a hotel guest utters “Alexa, I want a towel” it is necessary to delivere the information to the hotel staff. In this case, the information is saved in the Control Panel and will show the room number, date, time, and type of request. Then will be possible to analyze how many guests, from which area of the facility, request additional items or services.
Maximum privacy for the guest
Interactions and dialogues that occur between the guest and Alexa are not recorded. There is no way to trace the specific words spoken by the person. Respect for privacy always comes first.
However, all interactions that occur with Alexa are counted, broken down by type, and stored anonymously in the Control Panel for statistical and analytical reasons.
It will be possible to find out how many guests ask for the times of a service, how the SPA works, the Wi-Fi password, …
All the data at your disposal in the Control Panel
Within the Control Panel, which allows you to manage all of Alexa’s features, information about requests made to Alexa can be found in several sections, and the details of the individual request can be viewed.
Instead, in the Analytics section of the Control Panel, information gived by Alexa are summarized and aggregated, through tables, charts, and interactive areas.
With this valuable feature, the staff, management, and administrative offices of the facility can obtain information quickly,
being able to assess the increase in guests use of Alexa over time. In addition, interesting data can also be extracted on the management of the hotel and the proper operation of services, to constantly improve. For example, if an extra blanket is frequently requested in the room, perhaps it would be worth considering adding some in all rooms. If many users, on the other hand, request restaurant menus and costs, but then do not book a table, it may prove useful to reevaluate the overall offer, which is not in line with customers’ wishes.
Calculations and projections to improve business
With the data collected, in the Analytics section of our Control Panel it is possible to calculate the time savings and monetary gain from using Alexa in the facility. The avoided phone calls from the front desk are a good example.
Imagine a hotel in Rome, a historic city with many tourist attractions: the guest might call the front desk to ask how to get to a monument and where the nearest transportation stops are. The front desk staff may take up to 5 minutes to provide all the information.
Instead, the same request can be made directly in the room with a simple question, “Alexa, how do you get to the Colosseum by subway?”
Alexa will simply draw the answer from the Control Panel, where all the information entered by the hotel staff is located.
In this way, Alexa takes the place of the front desk, which can then devote itself to other, more valuable activities (such as greeting new guests with due attention).
Let’s assume, in the same hotel in Rome, 5 such calls per day, which turns into 25 minutes of phone calls per day saved, or almost three hours per week.
It is also possible to set an hourly staff cost in the Control Panel to get a timely projection of the value-time saved thanks to Alexa.
Easy and immediate consultation
All collected data, with summaries and calculations, will be easily accessible and searchable in the Control Panel, by users who have the level of access necessary.
Through the use of filters it will be possible to obtain analysis and projection for the individual day, period or entire season.
Guests of an accommodation facility can also request through Alexa all the additional services offered, such as (just for example):
- breakfast in the room
- a bottle of wine in the room
- massages or excursions.
The Analytics section allows for an accurate picture of service sales made through interaction with Alexa, even running projections and calculating potential revenue in the following months with the help of the voice assistant. The data also helps to understand which services have the greatest increase in sales (for example: without Alexa, 10 massages were sold per week; after Alexa, an average of 20 are sold), in order to implement more effective promotion strategies. Using the Control Panel, screens can be created to share with targeted and well-presented offers to increase upselling.
